1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using TeeToPin ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

TeeToPin is a golf intelligence application that provides LiDAR-based green reading, GPS rangefinding, score tracking, weather analysis, and club recommendations. The App is designed for recreational and practice use only.

3. Not for Official Competition

TeeToPin is NOT authorized for use during sanctioned tournament play. Under USGA Rule 4.3 and R&A regulations, electronic devices that measure or analyze slope, green contours, and break are restricted during competition. USGA Model Local Rule G-11 prohibits digital green-reading materials showing a scale of more than 3/8 inch to 5 yards (1:480). Use during an official event may result in disqualification. It is your sole responsibility to verify compliance with the rules of any event, course, or tour before using the App.

4. Accuracy Disclaimer

All measurements, readings, and recommendations provided by TeeToPin are approximations. LiDAR scans, GPS distances, wind adjustments, club recommendations, putt break analysis, handicap calculations, strokes gained estimates, and weather-based predictions are algorithmic estimates and should not be considered exact. Accuracy varies by device model, environmental conditions, scanning technique, GPS signal strength, and other factors. TeeToPin is not a replacement for a certified laser rangefinder, professional caddie, or official handicap service.

5. Weather Data

Weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo (primary) and Apple WeatherKit (fallback). Forecasts are approximations and may not reflect real-time conditions at your location. Green firmness and playability estimates are algorithmic predictions — actual course conditions depend on maintenance, irrigation, drainage, and many other factors beyond the App's knowledge.

6. Safety

If the App displays a thunder or lightning warning, leave the course immediately. Lightning is the leading weather-related cause of death on golf courses. TeeToPin's weather alerts are based on forecast data and may not detect sudden or localized storms. You are solely responsible for your own safety on the course.

7. User Data & Privacy

TeeToPin stores all user data locally on your device. Your rounds, scores, green scans, club data, and profile information are never uploaded to external servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, algorithms, and branding associated with TeeToPin are the intellectual property of TeeToPin and its developers. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App without written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

TeeToPin is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. In no event shall TeeToPin, its developers, or affiliates be liable for any damages arising from: (a) use or inability to use the App; (b) penalties or disqualifications from competition; (c) inaccurate measurements or recommendations; (d) data loss; (e) injuries on the golf course; or (f) decisions made based on App data.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeeToPin and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to use TeeToPin. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Third-Party Services

TeeToPin may integrate with third-party services (weather APIs, course databases). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of third-party services.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction of the developer's principal place of business.

15. Not Affiliated

TeeToPin is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with the PGA, LPGA, USGA, R&A, PGA Tour, or any professional golf organization.

Overview

TeeToPin is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do NOT collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• We do NOT track your location history
• We do NOT use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do NOT serve advertisements
• We do NOT sell, share, or transmit any user data to third parties
• We do NOT require account creation or login

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All App data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework: golf rounds, scores and statistics, green scan results, course information and favorites, club bag configuration and learned distances, golfer profile and preferences, and app settings. This data never leaves your device. If you delete the App, all data is permanently deleted.

Location Data

TeeToPin requests location access for GPS rangefinding, weather fetching for your current location, and shot distance tracking. Location data is used in real-time only and is NOT stored, logged, or transmitted to any server. Location access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

Camera & LiDAR

TeeToPin uses the device camera and LiDAR sensor solely for green surface scanning via ARKit. Camera frames and depth data are processed on-device in real-time. No images, video, or depth data are stored, uploaded, or transmitted.

Network Requests

TeeToPin makes the following external requests: Open-Meteo API for weather data (no personal data sent, only coordinates); Apple WeatherKit as a fallback weather source; golf course search API for course name and location queries (no personal data sent). No cookies, session tokens, or user identifiers are included in any network request.

Notifications

TeeToPin may request permission for local notifications including tee time reminders, round status updates, and weather warnings. All notifications are generated locally on-device. No push notification server is used.

Third-Party Services

• Open-Meteo — open-source weather API, no API key required
• Apple WeatherKit — subject to Apple's privacy policy
• No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporters, or ad networks are included

Children's Privacy

TeeToPin does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App does not collect data from any user of any age.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally, retention is entirely under your control. Delete the App to delete all data. There is no cloud backup or sync — data cannot be recovered after deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
